Dürnstein Abbey is managed by Herzogenburg Abbey

Herzogenburg Abbey is a complete work of art in baroque style and considered by tour guides to be a hidden gem. For centuries it has formed the spiritual centre of the community of Augustinian Canons. The magnificent public rooms, such as the Festival Hall and Choir Chapel, as well as the collection of Gothic art are open to the public. The highlight of any visit is the Baroque Picture Gallery, the last complete example of its kind with 144 paintings. Visit us in the Lower Traisen Valley, just 30 minutes by car from Dürnstein!
